Losing your settings or losing your mind?

Either which way, if you run multiple website profiles, Dreamweaver 8 sometimes does not store your FTP settings when you shut down the application.

Solution?

Visit the Dreamweaver Support Center to get the latest hot fix to correct this problem

New webmaster chat forums installed

Ok. BBPress was great, but did not have time to play around with modding and customizing it. One thing I really did like was the SEO friendly URL, but if you’re really not after domainating or domanizing a keyword/keyphrase, why bother. Google will still index although your URL may be a bit lame.

Hence, fresh install of the Webmaster chat forum

Go ahead, I know you want to … POST YOUR SITE! ( … and get a link back to your site)

There is a good reason why I’m calling it the webmaster chat forum, chat being the keyword. More on this later

Help from my friends

Today I contracted the help of my friends in India to assist me with submitting one of my sites to PR4-PR7 directories.

WIll it work?

You never know, if you’re not doing it right, it may actually backfire on you, your website and your keyword rankings.

It’s been a while since I’ve done this, but in the past I’ve seen a site go from 0 links in to 200 links in within months. As for the term, there are over 5K+ listings in Google now.

So did it work?

Absolutely.

Quick list of ways to promote your site:

Directory submission - questionable in some cases, but still works
Article submission - excellent for boosting keyword rankings
Social bookmarking submission - too early to say on what results may be, but highly popular.
Forum posting - good if they have not redirects
Blog posting - a lot of no-follows, but still works with some engines
Manual link exchange requests - too time consuming, no guarantee on results.

As is the case, you will not see results right away … patience is the key.

Eventually you will get there.
